Future of the Technology: Heaven or Hell?

After conducting an adequate study of number of articles on prediction of E-Business future and Technology as a whole I have come to the conclusion: There are a number of different futurological views on how E-Business as part of Technology would develop and how our lives would conduct accordingly in number of years. However most of those predictors have divided into two basic views: pessimistic and optimistic.

Optimists such as Arthur C. Clarke famous science fiction writer and Alvin Toffler famous futurologist predict the great technological development such as: Artificial Intelligence reaches human levels by 2020, the complete control of matter at the atomic level is achieved by 2015, and full-immersion virtual reality is possible in 2025. The optimistic view is that people will eventually find the alternative to fusel fuels, new planets would be invented and generally human society would grow and develop quite happily. The omission of the facts such as fusel fuels would be finished quite before the new alternative would arrive, new diseases such as aging in a second and huge shortage of water resources despite of natural catastrophes are immediately promoted by pessimists- futurologists such as Bill Joy arguing about danger of technological development and its influence on humanity. All these predictions would influence directly on e-business nature, as change in society according to its current position would have great impact on business nature.

However my point is that the development of humanity as a whole would lie in between those two radical views even though I mostly decline to the pessimistic view. As if we overlook on our technological present position and the generation that is under complete influence of those technological development we can obviously see that we have overcome huge peacks and those which are not discovered yet would be discovered in the close seen future. The question arising here is: “Have you ever thought about bad side of that technological progress and its influence on future generation, the one that would be building new society? “ Most of us don’t. The point is: the most new qualitative phenomenon brought by computerization is intellectual erosion: moralization arrived from computer games, loss of literacy and grammatical correctness, narrowing of mental outlook, pseudo education that does not require the thinking of learner, switch from thinking to reflective reaction. Internet – is the really impressive achievement, but what mostly impress are the technical aspects: the volume of memory equipment, speed and reliability of data transfer, the volume of different information kept in world databases. However the helplessness of search engines really aggrieves and IT seems to be needy in the decision of simple in first glance task: e.g. to find the exact result of search, composed even in organized form.

Except all of this it is quite clear, that the huge volume of data (information, but not the knowledge) completely deprives users of imagination, therefore ability to use those data.

It is relative to say here: “If you do not know where you are going to, you would appear somewhere else “.

The question for you is:

Taking into consideration all the above statements, where do you see the future of E-Business and Technology as a whole in 2030 and over?

Ghosts of E-Business

With the prospect of an economic recovery ahead, it may finally be time for e-businesses to glance in the rearview mirror and ponder the wreckage left behind and the changing road ahead.

If today's e-commerce companies could be visited by a Ghost of E-Business Future, they likely would want to know what challenges they would face in coming months and years, so they could prepare to meet them. One area that still presents a challenge and will continue to do so in years ahead is usability and navigation. Jared Spool, founding principal of usability firm "User Interface Engeneering", told the E-Commerce Times that some e-tailers still do not know why customers come to their sites. He said this lack of insight likely will not be overcome soon. "We see it all the time, that one little piece of information turns out to be tremendously important," he said. "Making a site usable is a process that takes understanding and time. There is still a great deal to be learned."

What Is Futurulogy And How It Can Help Businesses?

What is futurism, or futurology?
Futurology is the study of the future. A look at what people are doing research on now and try to figure out when they are likely to succeed and how all the various technologies will come together to change our lives. It is not a perfect science at all. Lots of important things that will change the world even ten years from now haven't been invented yet, and there will always be accidents or wars or other unpredictable events that change the direction things turn out in. The best you can do is see shapes appearing through the fog; but blurred or foggy vision is still better than none at all. However, in technology, lots of things are quite predictable, so you can get 85 percent accuracy at the ten-year horizon.

How can futurology help businesses?

Futurology is just the same as looking out through the car windscreen as you drive along. If you can see opportunities (or threats) up ahead, it is always an advantage. What surprises is that the companies should employ futurologists, but some businesses don't seem to look ahead at all. They are sitting ducks. Companies really need to identify what lies ahead so that they can prepare for it.
